Get to Know Gerra

Updated on

Gerra’s coffee journey began in Providence, Rhode Island, pouring coffee from glass decanters and learning the early art of cappuccinos behind the bar. After moving to Boston for college, coffee became more than a way to pay the bills. It became a career rooted in community, craftsmanship, and connection.

While working as a barista in Boston, Gerra discovered specialty coffee and was drawn to the thoughtful sourcing, producer relationships, and careful preparation that define the industry. That passion led her to spend a decade helping build a startup roaster’s wholesale and training programs, where she played a key role in expanding education and customer relationships.

Along the way, she founded the Mid Atlantic Northeast Coffee Conference and became a certified Q Grader. In 2013, Gerra transitioned into green coffee, working with both large and boutique importers while building lasting partnerships with roasters across the United States.

Today, Gerra continues to focus on connecting roasters with coffees and producer relationships that create long term value throughout the supply chain. She lives outside Boston with her husband, two daughters, and one dog.
