Thomas has been part of the coffee community since 2009, when he first started working as a barista at the Barnes & Noble Café in pursuit of a discount on books. What began as a practical decision quickly turned into a passion for coffee, hospitality, and the community built around it.
After moving into specialty coffee, Thomas gained experience across nearly every part of café operations, serving as a barista, café manager, retail trainer, roaster, green coffee buyer, and quality control specialist throughout the greater St. Louis area. Along the way, he developed a strong appreciation for the people who make the coffee industry possible and became passionate about helping businesses improve quality, operations, and customer experience.
Thomas joined StoneX Specialty Coffee in the summer of 2023 and supports the Kansas City warehouse as a QC Assistant. He enjoys the problem solving and collaboration that come with quality control and coffee operations and continues to expand his knowledge across the industry.
Outside of work, Thomas enjoys reading science and philosophy books, following soccer, baseball, and boxing, and spending time outdoors hiking with his family.
