The Story Behind Finca Santa Matilde Maracaturra

Winding rows of green plants in a lush, hilly landscape with trees and a cloudy sky.

Finca Santa Matilde is a specialty coffee farm nestled in the mountains of Jinotega, Nicaragua, at approximately 1,100 meters above sea level. Established in 2022 by Salvador Mayorga and Dorisabel Conrado, the farm was founded with a clear vision: to produce exceptional coffees while balancing economic performance, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.

From the beginning, the focus at Santa Matilde has been on expressing the farm's unique terroir through thoughtful cultivation and innovative processing. By carefully selecting coffee varieties and continuously refining post-harvest practices, the team produces coffees that showcase clarity, complexity, and a strong sense of place.

This lot features the Maracaturra varietal, a natural hybrid of Maragogipe and Caturra, prized for its large beans and expressive cup profile. Fully washed to highlight the varietal's intrinsic character, the coffee delivers elegant floral aromatics, vibrant citrus acidity, and layered notes of stone fruit, caramel, and cocoa with a clean, refined finish.

Every harvest reflects Santa Matilde's commitment to quality, sustainability, and responsible production, creating coffees that honor both the land and the people who cultivate it.
