The Story Behind Veracruz La Laja Washed SHG EP

For more than four decades, Finca La Laja has been dedicated to producing coffees that reflect the rich terroir and coffee-growing heritage of Veracruz. Since acquiring the farm in 1980, its producers have combined sustainable farming practices with a commitment to quality, cultivating coffees that are as expressive as the landscape itself.

Located in the mountainous region of Tlaltetela, the 113-hectare farm benefits from volcanic soils, high elevations, and a warm, humid climate that create ideal conditions for specialty coffee. Under the shade of native trees, Caturra and Gárnica varieties develop exceptional sweetness, complexity, and balance.

To highlight the character of each harvest, the farm utilizes a range of processing methods, including washed, semi-washed, honey, and natural, each carefully managed to preserve clarity while showcasing the coffee's unique attributes.

The result is a vibrant, expressive cup that reflects both the diversity of Veracruz and the craftsmanship that has defined Finca La Laja for generations.
