Camila Topke was born and raised in Guatemala, where coffee has been part of her life from the very beginning. Growing up around her family’s three coffee farms gave her early exposure to coffee production, farming culture, and the relationships that drive the industry.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Methodist University with a focus on Markets and Cultures before returning to Guatemala to work closely with her father in coffee farm management. During this time, Camila became deeply involved in industry leadership and producer advocacy through the International Women in Coffee Alliance (IWCA). In 2014, she became Vice President of the organization’s Guatemala chapter, collaborating with coffee producing communities across Central and South America.
While working in Guatemala, Camila helped implement sustainability and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives designed to create more opportunities for women within coffee production, including specialized agricultural and harvesting roles. Her work strengthened both producer relationships and community engagement throughout the supply chain.
In 2017, Camila moved to Houston to expand her experience in importing and green coffee trading. Since then, she has worked with roasters of all sizes, helping connect customers with coffees and producer partnerships throughout Latin America.
