The Story Behind Finca Las Camelias HHT Washed ML

In the 1950s, the Hidalgo family began growing coffee on the land located in the El Paraiso village, Municipality of La Libertad, Huehuetenango. They focused on increasing Caturra and Bourbon varieties and recently added Sarchimor.

In the 1970s, Don Silvano Hidalgo inherited from his father a part of the farm that he called Las Camelias because he liked to have these Camelia flowers in his garden. This flower is considered the symbol of the utmost refinement of beauty and excellence of eternal love.

Huehuetenango has coffee-growing altitudes up to 2,100 meters above sea level, moderate temperatures, consistent rainfall, and volcanic soil, creating ideal conditions for the complex and interesting coffees we expect from the region. Coffee is harvested between January and April and usually arrives in the US around the beginning of July.
