The Story Behind Yellow Honey Robusta

Vietnam’s coffee landscape is built on smallholder agriculture, with most farms averaging between one and three hectares. Across the country’s Central Highlands, producers deliver freshly harvested cherries to centralized mills, where coffees are processed and prepared for export.

As the world’s largest producer of robusta coffee, Vietnam has historically been associated with commercial-grade supply chains. In recent years, however, a growing movement within the country has focused on elevating robusta quality through improved harvesting standards, modern processing methods, and specialty-focused production.

Produced in Lam Dong Province, this Yellow Honey fine robusta reflects that evolution. Grown between 700 and 800 meters above sea level in Vietnam’s Central Highlands, the coffee benefits from fertile volcanic soils and favorable growing conditions that support sweetness, body, and consistency in the cup.

During processing, a portion of the coffee’s fruit mucilage is intentionally left on the parchment during drying, contributing additional sweetness and texture while preserving the dense structure characteristic of fine robusta coffees.

The resulting cup offers layered sweetness with notes of caramel, cocoa, and subtle fruit complexity supported by a heavy body and clean finish well suited for espresso applications and blend development.
