The Story Behind Cerro Blanco Moyobamba FTO

In the lush highlands of northern Peru, a pale ridge known as Cerro Blanco rises above the valleys of Moyobamba, where coffee cultivation has become a defining part of daily life. What began as a small group of farmers in La Victoria has grown into the Asociación de Productores Cerro Blanco, bringing together more than two hundred families across fifteen communities. These producers farm between 1200 and 1700 meters, where cool mountain air and fertile soils create ideal conditions for cultivating traditional varieties such as Typica, Caturra, and Catuai.

Harvest is carried out by hand, with careful cherry selection ensuring only fully ripe fruit enters the process. The coffee is then fully washed, using fermentation and clean water to refine clarity and highlight the natural sweetness developed at elevation. After washing, beans are dried under the sun, a method that preserves balance and structure while allowing the cup profile to express notes of citrus, peach, and soft chocolate with a light caramel finish.

This lot reflects both quality and collective progress. As a Fairtrade Organic certified coffee, it represents a shared commitment among APROCEB members to sustainable agriculture, traceability, and long term community development. Through collaboration and rigorous quality standards, Cerro Blanco producers consistently deliver Grade 1 coffees that connect roasters directly to origin, carrying forward the character of Moyobamba and the people behind each harvest.
