The story behind Mexico Chiapas Montecristo De Guerrero Organic SHG EP
In 2020, 27 dedicated coffee producers from Montecristo de Guerrero, Chiapas, formed the Arte Divino Cooperative after over a decade of collaborating with organizations like INIFAP to develop sustainable practices benefiting their community and environment. With the support of Erwing Iturbe, founder of Arte Divino Café, the cooperative enhanced coffee commercialization, leading to improved incomes for farming families.
Committed to sustainable, high-quality coffee production, Arte Divino emphasizes direct trade, economic transparency, equity, and environmental respect. By employing controlled shade farming and organic practices, they ensure quality and traceability in line with Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) standards. This lot, cultivated across 177.37 hectares, showcases a diverse range of Arabica varieties. After harvesting, the organic parchment coffee was meticulously milled in Nayarit before being exported to Seattle.
