Get to Know Matt!

Matt’s coffee journey began behind the espresso bar at a small roastery tucked behind the Redwood Curtain of Northern California. What started as a student job turned into a lifelong pursuit that carried him from coffee fields in East Africa to American boardrooms and to the trade desks that connect them all.

As a trainer for one of specialty coffee’s pioneers, he learned early that through great coffee and great service, we can change not just someone’s day, but their world. He spent years working alongside farmers and exporters in East Africa before returning to the U.S. as a Senior Specialty Trader, later helping one of America’s most iconic brands strengthen its sourcing strategy and sustainability programs. Leading specialty coffee trading teams, he’s helped roasters and producers build transparent, resilient supply chains.

Matt is a past President of the Pacific Coast Coffee Association (PCCA), an active founding board member of the Coffee Coalition for Racial Equity (CCRE), and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Coffee Quality Institute (CQI). He lives in Atlanta with his wife and three children, and still believes coffee can change the world.
