Fazenda Boa Vista, located in Guapé MG, was founded in 2019 by Rafael Naves de Figueiredo, a passionate agronomist with a deep-rooted love for the land. Rafael grew up surrounded by the coffee plantations of his family’s Fazenda do Gordura in Santana da Vargem MG, where he learned the art of coffee cultivation by working alongside his grandfather.
In 2009, Rafael pursued his dream by enrolling in Agronomy at Alfenas MG, graduating in 2012. With a decade of experience working with organomineral fertilizers at some of Brazil’s most renowned coffee plantations, Rafael brought his expertise and passion to Fazenda Boa Vista.
Through his wife Marianna, Rafael discovered the stunning region of Serra Nova, located between Guapé and Ilicínea MG. Enchanted by the area’s unique topography, with high-altitude plateaus blending into panoramic mountains overlooking Furnas Lake, Rafael decided to plant roots and establish his coffee farm in this extraordinary landscape.
Today, Rafael and Marianna run the Areias and Boa Vista properties, continuing their families’ traditions while embracing the region’s distinct characteristics. With the ideal climate for cultivating coffee of exceptional quality, the couple has focused on implementing sustainable and balanced agronomic practices, ensuring every bean reflects their commitment to excellence.
At Fazenda Boa Vista, coffee is harvested at peak ripeness and dried with precision using traditional sun-drying patios and static dryers with controlled temperatures to preserve flavor and quality. The couple is equally dedicated to the well-being of their employees and their families, fostering a thriving and supportive community on the farm.
